The Kindergarten program is specifically designed to prepare your child for every aspect of school. Indiana State Education guidelines for Kindergarten in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies and Science are followed. We use the same reading/phonics program that many Hamilton Southeastern schools use.
Highlights of our program include:
- Longer class times
- Student to teacher ratio of 15:2
- One-on-one time with a teacher
- Special field trips
- Weekly God's Day
- Monthly Chapel
- Christmas Program
- Graduation Day & Ceremony
Our dedicated extra curricular time includes: daily indoor or outdoor recess, Physical Education time, art, and
music lead by Miss Elaine Ackermann from Express Kids, a popular PBS children's program.
We go on several field trips throughout the year. In the past, we have gone to the apple orchard, Fishers town center, Children's Museum and the Zoo. On Friday, our longer day, we have Special Person Day, Show and Tell, snack and we join a cafeteria style lunch called "Lunch Bunch".
Favorites of the Kids:
- Science experiments
- Being the "Big Kids" on campus (getting to walk to the classroom without parent)
- Shopping Days using our earned Lucky Lions Tickets
- Special days-includes "Opposite Day", "Beach Day", "Outdoor Snow Day", and "Safari Day" just to name a few.
- Celebration of 100th day of school
- Pledge of Allegiance
Kindergarten "table work" with Mrs. Calvert.
Comments from Parents
“Noah’s Ark kindergarten class has been the best experience for our son this year. The student to teacher ratio was very small which is almost nonexistent anywhere else. Our son has learned all of his sight words and is reading. We have been very happy with this program. Miss Julie and Miss Kathryn have been so nurturing and we are so happy to have them as teachers this year. One of the highlights is to be able to walk to the classroom by himself. I would do this again in a heartbeat.” Clayton Family
“I couldn’t be happier with my daughter MaKenna’s progress at Noah’s Ark Early Education. I have no doubt that she has received superior education n a 5K classroom with 9 students and two teachers, than she could have ever received in a classroom with 25 students and one teacher. The skills and confidence she has gained will benefit her as she begins 1st grade at HSE schools this Fall.” Tracy Doyle - mom
