Communications Director
Christ the Savior Lutheran Church, a vibrant ELCA Lutheran congregation in Fishers, IN, is seeking a part-time Communications Director to join our staff. Christ the Savior Lutheran Church has served Fishers and surrounding communities for over 40 years. We are a community of wide welcome and deep grace grounded in the love of Christ.
The Communications Director will be responsible for telling the stories of inspiration and ministry impact as well as promoting ministry opportunities within and beyond the congregation. This position will report to pastoral staff and will develop a strategic communication plan; manage communication workflow and responsibilities; and maintain a master communication calendar. As needed, they will coach staff and key volunteers in proper use of communication tools and lead a volunteer Communications Team.
The desired candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively as a part of the leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a servant-minded individual with high integrity and a positive attitude who is relatable, flexible, and able to lead and build teams. - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in communications
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and organization
- Demonstrated expertise in digital communications management
- Proficiency in capturing, editing and sharing of video content
- Strong writing, creativity, and design skills
- Ability to use, or learn to use design software (Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, etc.)
